Sold - Large Curly Maple Natural Edge Platter

This platter took second prize in the 2022 Totally Turning Symposium in Saratoga Springs, NY and was chosen for a poetry reading by NorthWinds Fine Art Gallery.  Roger Mitchell is a well published poet that is writing a poem about my platter.  The event is April 22, 6.00 pm at the Hotel Saranac in Saranac Lake, NY.  It is a free event and open to the public.  
 
This platter has a lot of character.  The aged maple has many shades of color that enhance the curly figure.  Curl is a natural figure that makes the wood look like it has waves of curl in the grain.  If that wasn't enough the wood has some natural spalting and I have filled the voids with gold epoxy to top it off.  The size of this platter is 17 inches by 4 inches.  It is finished with all natural, food safe, and non allergenic walnut oil.
